We are proud to announce that Ε.Δ.Ω. offers rehearsal space for Homer’s Iliad, recited by Karyofyllia Karabeti and performed by Phoebus Papadopoulos. Dimitris Papadatos (music, percussion) and Stathis Chrysides (interactive projections) also participate in the event.
This performance is included in the cycle of productions named “Ancient Heritage, New Perspectives”, in which ancient Greek works are adapted and presented on stage. The cycle will begin this year with Homer’s Iliad. To mark the completion of its translation by Dimitris Maronitis, the National Theatre has invited some of Greece’s most important actresses to present the 24 rhapsodies of this great work in an original staged version. Each week, a new rhapsody will be performed by a different actress.
The performance of Karyofyllia Karabeti will be presented at the National Theatre of Greece on the 6th of January 2011.
